Happy New Year everyone!
Have you set any goals for this year? Any resolutions? One of my resolutions this year is to get more organized. That means organizing email folders, my digital library, swipe files, contacts, accounting, etc. Being more organized will also help in getting me more focused on the projects that I’m working on.
So what are some of your new year resolutions for your business?

All the PPC affiliate marketing blogs that I read are predominantly written by guys. If I had to guess for a reason, I would say that PPC affiliate marketing is like playing video games. You’re always trying to beat the high scores, i.e. trying to increase your affiliate earnings from day to day, week to week, month to month. And there is also a study that links video game playing to the way male brains are wired.
I think it also has to do with risk tolerance. Men tend to have a higher risk tolerance than women. And men tend to be more competitive. PPC has risks associated with it just like trading stocks (notice I said trading, not investing) has risks. And guess which gender make up the majority of stock traders? Yup - men.

Every now and then when I have to renew domains with GoDaddy, I hunt around for coupon codes to save some money. Often times, you’ll see codes from the search results that don’t work anymore but I’ve found one that works nicely for December 2008. I just used it today.
WEASEL30
You’ll save 30% off .com domains. It’s a nice chunk of change if you are renewing multiple domains.
Anyway, the coupon code was found on Games Weasel. Thanks!

Please check your publisher sign up forms. I just tried signing up as a publisher with Motive Interactive and I kept getting error messages after filling out the form because it wouldn’t accept my last name which only contains 2 letters.
I’ve never had this issue with other networks before so this is a first. Anyway, if anyone from Motive reads this, please don’t make it so hard for publishers with short last names who want to sign up.

CX Digital was down sometime today and is still down. Their website is not accessible and all the offers are not showing up. What does that do to publishers?
For people doing PPC, they can be losing thousands of dollars if they don’t pause their campaigns.
For the CPA network, they could lose a lot of angry affiliates.
It’ll be interesting to see how CXD will make things right again. It’s too bad because so far, they are one of my favorite networks.

I’m still struggling to with the PPC Coach tracker. On the tracking side, everything is working fine and I can see conversions coming from the exact keyword (on the search network) or the referring site (on the content network). I can also update the subid reports from the CPA networks and get the revenue data to come up as beautiful bar graphs.
However, the one thing I haven’t quite figured out is why the AdWords cost data is not updating. The tracker uses the AdWords API to pull data from the generated reports in your AdWords account. Once I figure this out, then everything will be set. By the way, the tracker will work with Yahoo and MSN as well. I will be able to get a complete overview of which campaigns are converting at what ROI down to the keyword level. That’s the beauty of tracking!
